Sending your kids out to fundraise

When selling those chocolate bars door to door (believe me, it’s a great learning experience for kids!) remember:
Don't send your sellers out unprepared. Part of youth sports is teaching. Helping kids with their sales skills goes a long way toward building self confidence.

Here's what to tell them:

  1. Make eye contact, smile and introduce yourself.
  2. Say one sentence about why you are raising funds.
  3. Say second sentence that asks for their help.
  4. Make sure that sentence includes the word "because".
  5. Extend sample item, catalog, or order sheet.
  6. Suggest a personal favorite item or bundle.
  7. Always ask for the order.

Do you have a good fundraising idea? Help the Haney Neptunes fundraise and parents to earn their fundraising dollars. Please bring your ideas forward. We are looking for parents to bring ideas and run individual fundraiser events. If you know of a company or organization that would be willing to provide sponsorship, then please let us know. Corporate sponsors are a cornerstone to the fundraising process and the Neptunes can work out a variety of ways to advertise our sponsors.

Spring is almost here!!   And with spring comes BBQing, camping trips, and backyard entertaining so now is the perfect time to stock your freezers with everything you need.


We are pleased to be able to offer our Neptune families the chance to participate in our Neufeld Farms fundraiser.  Neufeld Farms offers fantastic quality meat products - skewers, chicken, burgers and steaks as well as appetizers, and cookies and pies for dessert - with delivery just in time for all your spring entertaining!
And even better is that a portion of your order ($3 from each pie/cookie order and $5-9 from each meat/chicken order) goes towards your Winter fundraising obligation.  


To order just follow these easy steps:


1. Print the order forms attached (or download from the website).
2. Pass them along to family, friends, neighbours, co-workers etc to fill in the orders.
3. Turn in the orders and all payments - cash (exact change only please) or cheques (payable to “HNAC”) - to Theresa Adams or leave them at the front desk of the Leisure Centre by 4pm on Sunday, February 22.
4. Pick up your orders on Thursday, March 5 at 7:00pm at the Leisure Centre.
5. Enjoy your delicious meats and burgers knowing your winter fundraising is looked after!

For every ticket sold, 5$ goes towards your fundraising commitment!

How to make additional monies towards your fundraising commitment:

Donate to the silent auction- 50% of the final silent auction sale goes towards your fundraising obligation! (say something you donate goes for 20$- you get 10$ towards your fundraising obligation!!)

Silent Auction items can be brought to the pool the next 2 weekends (or masters) or the pub night. Please give us a quick email about the item you are bringing so we can arrange for it if not donating ahead of time. 

Donate a bottle of your favourite liquor for the toonie toss! The cost of the bottle will go towards your fundraising commitment. This can be brought the night of. Please, again,  let us know in advance. 

Donate to the balloon pop (small household items i.e. candles, mugs, candle holders) - 2$ per item towards your fundraising!! Please bring this to the pool in advance over the next 2 weeks as we need these in advance. 

We really need some help selling tickets and gathering items for the fundraising portion of the evening! Tickets will also be available at the door and at masters. We can also arrange alternate pick up if absolutely needed! Tickets going fast!!



I am pleased to let you about another opportunity to contribute towards your fundraising amount. As Panago are unable to provide us with further pizza coupons until January, I have followed up with Domino's and obtained coupons with some huge savings.

Each coupon is $10 and has $120 of savings with Dominos plus a free pizza. Also for every coupon you purchase $7.50 will go towards your fundraising amount.

If you require these please drop me an e-mail with the amount you require and place a cheque/cash in my family folder (Pitzey) or the blue fundraising folder.

I will be receiving 100 Panago coupons which will be available to purchase from me at $10 per coupon.  Each Certificate entitles the bearer to one medium Panago pizza of their choice.  The certificates are only valid for 3 months however, every coupon you purchase $4 of this will be taken from your fundraising total. At this time the numbers of coupons are limited but I intend to push for more once we are out. If you require these please email me with your request and place a cheque in a clearly marked envelope (family name please) in the fundraising folder.

For all of you looking for a way to support your fundraising obligations here you go;

Accounts are set up at both Haney Bottle Depot located at 2-22935 Lougheed Highway (east end of town) and Maple Ridge Bottle Depot located at 15-20475 Lougheed Highway (behind Shoppers & Save on Foods).

All you need to do is take your empties in, sort them and cash them in. Let them know you are from the Haney Neptune Swim Club and have them put it under that account. You will receive a receipt with the total that you cashed in. Put your family name on the back of the receipt and the first name of your swimmer. Please put all receipts in the blue communication box at the pool. Either put them in the fundraising folder or in my family folder. The blue box is usually out on the bleachers. If it is not there check with the coach as it is in the equipment room cage beside the teach pool. Please send me an email that you have put a receipt in the box.

This is a great way to pay off your fundraising obligations as every dollar you receive goes towards the deposit cheques that we hope to give back to you at the end of the Summer session.

FUNDRAISING REFFERAL - If as a member family you recruit a new family to the Haney Neptunes (any season), please have them mention your name at registration.  If that family stays on with the club and joins the summer program (not including the Hammond program) or has just newly joined for summer, your family will receive a $100 credit towards your $150 summer fundraising responsibility.  Please note that it is up to you to ensure your name is noted & that you follow up again with the Director of Fundraising come summer!  With accurate documentation and follow-up, we will happily apply this credit.
